As a general rule, holidays push our pickup schedules up one day. For example, if a holiday falls on a Monday, Monday's routes will be run on Tuesday, Tuesday's routes on Wednesday, and so forth through Saturday. | |

No. As of April 1, 2011, all single family residential customers in the City of Kent will receive yard and food waste collection service at no additional charge. Rates are based on the level of garbage service. Several options are available for weekly garbage collection. This includes: 13, 20, 32, 45, 64 and 96 gallon carts. As of April 1, 2011, monthly service is no longer permitted. If you have monthly service, the most comparable level of service would be the 13-gallon weekly service at $4.61 per month, plus fees and taxes. | |
Several options are available for every other week recycling service. These include 32, 64 and 96 gallon carts. Over 50% of what is thrown away is recyclable material. Many new items can now be recycled. Please click here for information about what can be recycled. | |
Several options are available for every other week yard and food waste service. These include 13, 32, 64 and 96 gallon service. Consider the size of your yard and number of people in your household when deciding on a level of service. 13-gallon carts are an excellent choice for customers who live in condominiums. | |

Carts should be placed at the curb or street, with the lid opening facing the street. Carts should be at least 2-feet from other carts and 3-feet from trees, mailboxes and vehicles to allow for easy and efficient collection. Please click here for a diagram of proper cart placement. |
